Keeping Students in School

Dear Families,

We love having our students back in school, all together. We are watching districts around the county and state face classroom and potential school closures and cancelation of sporting events and extracurricular activities. We have had to do our own contact tracing and have had to notify staff and families about positive cases.

We are asking you to partner with us to ensure our students are healthy and our classes can remain together for in-person learning. There are several things you can do to help:

  1. Please do not send your child(ren) to school if they are showing any signs of illness. We know this can be inconvenient, but the unfortunate reality is that individual classrooms, sports teams, after school programs, or even schools could have to quarantine, if there is an outbreak. Contact your school office if your child has any signs of illness to excuse the absence and work with your student's teacher on coursework.  Stay in contact with your child's school should the illness progress or if there is a positive COVID-19 test result.
  2. Remind your child(ren) about the importance of social distancing. We understand this can also be difficult, but keeping it in mind while in class, at practice and out and about can help limit exposure, and reduce the number of "close contacts" who will need to quarantine.
  3. Ask your child(ren) to be vigilant with mask wearing. Ensure they have a properly fitting mask that covers their nose, mouth, and chin. If they need a mask, please contact your child's school and one or more can be provided.
  4. Continue with hand washing and sanitizer as much as possible.

The Mabton community has worked hard to find a way to bring our students back together and that's how we want to keep it. Together. We are here to support our students in any way we can and we know you are doing the same.

Thank you for your continued efforts!
